# OttoTeq > OttoTeq is a small, owner-operated automation and systems company in Augusta, Georgia. It helps owner-run small businesses (generally 1–10 people) fix what slows them down: missed calls, slow follow-up, double data entry, disconnected software, spreadsheets doing jobs they were never built for, websites that don't bring in work, and routine admin that eats evenings. Tagline: "More Jobs, Less Busywork." Descriptor: "Practical automation and process fixes for small businesses, built by an owner-operator." OttoTeq is a service company, not an app or a software product. The customer describes the problem; OttoTeq decides which tool fits. The fix may be a setting in software the business already owns, two systems connected so they share information, an automation running in the background, a website that serves the business, a small custom tool, or AI doing one small, well-defined job inside a workflow. Sometimes the honest answer is "you don't need us," and OttoTeq says so. Approach: process first, technology second. OttoTeq maps how the work actually gets done (handoffs, approvals, repeated steps, bottlenecks, steps that depend on someone remembering), simplifies what it can, then automates where it helps. How an engagement works, in four steps the customer can stop after at any point: 1. Talk — a free 20-minute conversation, by phone or in person. No preparation or technical knowledge needed. 2. Diagnose — a direct recommendation and a fixed quote, usually from that same conversation. When several parts of the business are tangled together, a $299 on-site Operations Inspection (about 90 minutes, written report) comes first; it is credited toward a build started within 30 days and is only recommended when OttoTeq can't quote responsibly without it. 3. Build — a fixed price approved before any work starts. Scope changes are priced before the extra work happens. Small projects take about a week; anything that texts customers needs carrier (A2P 10DLC) registration first, which OttoTeq handles. 4. Care — OttoTeq Care (hosting, monitoring, support) from $99/month, month to month, only when what was built needs it. Pricing anchors (public): the conversation is free; the Operations Inspection is $299 when needed; projects start at $600 as a one-time price for the build (not a monthly fee) and are priced by what needs to be built, with a fixed quote approved before work begins; OttoTeq Care starts at $99/month when needed. No hourly billing. The first 30 days after go-live, anything not working as agreed is fixed at no charge. Ownership: "Built for your business. Owned by your business." The client's domain, website accounts, content, data, and essential logins stay under the client's control. Documented handoff, no vendor lock-in. Who it's for: owner-run small businesses. Home and field service companies (lawn care, pest control, plumbing, HVAC, cleaning, pressure washing, detailing, pool service, handymen, painting, electrical, auto repair) are the lead example because OttoTeq's own proof comes from the founder's service business. The same problems are handled for bookkeepers and other small professional offices, contractors, real-estate agents and property managers, local service companies, and small nonprofits. Not a fit: businesses that need a live human answering around the clock, or that want an AI chatbot where a simpler fix would do. Where: based in Augusta, Georgia. On-site across the CSRA — Augusta, Evans, Martinez, Grovetown, Thomson (GA); North Augusta, Edgefield, Aiken (SC). Most build and support work happens remotely, so businesses outside the area can be served when the in-person part isn't the main reason to hire. Founder: Nate Dowd — retired U.S. Army officer, Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP), former software engineer/technologist, and owner of Fresh Yard, a local service business in Augusta. He built OttoTeq's systems for his own business first. OttoTeq LLC is veteran-owned and insured (including cyber coverage). Live proof: call (706) 214-2835 and hang up when it rings; the missed call is answered by text within seconds — the same system OttoTeq builds for clients.
